Blend Door Actuator - Installation

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The single zone heating-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.

SINGLE ZONE/DUAL ZONE DRIVER SIDE





1. Position the blend door actuator (1) to the back of the HVAC housing (4). If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft (2) with those on the actuator coupler (3).





2. Install the two screws (4) that secure the blend door actuator (2) to the HVAC housing (3). Tighten the screws to 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector (1) to the blend door actuator.
4. Install the glove box Instrument Panel Glove Box - Installation.
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
6. Initiate the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool .

DUAL ZONE PASSENGER SIDE





1. Position the blend door actuator (1) to the front of the HVAC housing (4). If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft (2) with those on the actuator coupler (3).





2. Install the two screws (4) that secure the blend door actuator (3) to the HVAC housing (1). Tighten the screws to 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector (2) to the blend door actuator.
4. Install the HVAC housing HVAC Housing - Installation.
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
6. Initiate the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool .
