Front Suspension - Bushings

BUSHINGS

Special Tools:

FRONT

NOTE:
Front (1) and rear (2) bushings are not interchangeable, although they look similar. The rears have an extra step on the bottom of the inner sleeve that inserts through the sheer bracket and the hole in the inner sleeve is smaller.

1. Place the front bushing (1) into position on the front crossmember.

NOTE:
The flat sides (3) on the upper can flange must be positioned toward the sides of the crossmember/vehicle within 15 degrees to maintain proper NVH levels.

2. Verify proper alignment of the bushing (2) in the crossmember (1) as shown.

3. Install the bushings (4) from the top down until they bottom out using press (C-4212F) (2) and installer (D-163) (2) or equivalent.

REAR

1. Place the rear bushing (2) into position on the front crossmember.

NOTE:
The flat sides (3) on the upper can flange must be positioned toward the sides of the crossmember/vehicle within 15 degrees to maintain proper NVH levels.
