Front Parking Brake Cable - Removal - RHD
FRONT CABLE - RIGHT-HAND-DRIVE
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Service and Repair
3. Manually release the automatic adjuster mechanism tension of the parking brake lever assembly on the cables. Service and Repair
4. Remove the front cable from the routing clips fastened to the underbody of the vehicle.
5. Remove the screw (3) securing the front cable (4) routing clip to the inboard side of the frame rail (2).
6. Collapse the front cable retainer fingers at the end of the cable housing (1) where it contacts the intermediate bracket. Using an appropriate size box wrench (2) works well to do this.
7. Pull the front cable (5) out of the intermediate bracket (1).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove the floor mounted console (3). Floor Console - Removal
10. Rotate the parking brake cable (3) upward at the end and slide the button out of the lever (1) mechanism.
11. Collapse the front cable retainer fingers at the end of the cable housing (1) where it contacts the floor mounted bracket. Using an appropriate size box wrench (2) works well to do this.
12. Pull the cable seal loose from the floor pan (4).
13. Pull the front parking brake cable (5) out of the vehicle through the hole in the floor pan (4).
