Power Brake Booster - Installation






POWER BRAKE BOOSTER






NOTE:
Before power brake booster (1) installation, be certain a NEW dash seal (2) is installed on the booster mounting studs.






1. Install power brake booster (2) through engine compartment, guiding push rod and mounting studs through dash panel with vacuum check valve oriented to 10 O'clock position on booster face.

2. Install four power brake booster mounting nuts (3). Tighten nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





3. Slide booster push rod (2) onto brake pedal pin (3). Install NEW retaining clip (1) securing push rod to brake pedal.





4. If equipped with adjustable pedals, reinstall and adjust the stop lamp switch that was set aside for reuse (2) in pedals assembly Stop Lamp Switch - Installation





5. If equipped with non-adjustable pedals, reinstall and adjust the stop lamp switch that was set aside for reuse (3) in pedals assembly Stop Lamp Switch - Installation

6. Connect vacuum hose to check valve on face of booster.

CAUTION:
When installing master cylinder on vehicle, a NEW vacuum seal MUST be installed on master cylinder.

7. Install master cylinder. Brake Master Cylinder - Installation

8. Install battery. Battery - Installation

9. Fill master cylinder with clean, fresh Mopar(R) Brake Fluid or equivalent, then bleed brakes. Service and Repair

10. Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation of brakes.
