Front Heater Core - Description

The heater core for the front heating-A/C system is located in the HVAC housing, behind the instrument panel. It is a heat exchanger made of rows of tubes and fins (2). The heater core tubes (4) are attached to the side of the heater core by metal retaining clips (3) and O-ring seals. Foam seals (1) assure that all the air flowing through the HVAC housing is directed through the heater core. The heater core is secured to the HVAC air distribution housing by a plastic cover.

The heater core can be serviced without removing the HVAC housing from the vehicle.
