Rear Heater Core - Installation






INSTALLATION

WARNING:
The heater core tubes are not serviced separately from the rear heater core. The heater core tubes should not be repositioned, loosened or removed from the rear heater core. Failure to follow this warning may result in a coolant leak and serious injury.





1. Carefully install the rear heater core (3) into the rear heater-A/C housing (1). Make sure that the foam seals are properly installed and that the two retaining tabs (2) are fully engaged.

2. Install the screw (5) that secures the rear heater core tube bracket (4) to the rear heater-A/C housing. Tighten the screw to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).

3. Install the rear heater-A/C housing Rear HVAC Housing.

4. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

5. If the rear heater core is being replaced, flush the cooling system Service and Repair.

6. Refill the engine cooling system Service and Repair.

7. Evacuate the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Evacuate.

8. Charge the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Charge.
