- Set Condition:
This DTC is set when the ERS message is not received or invalid.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.

Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR BCM CAN BUS DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

Are there BCM CAN BUS DTCs?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

No

- Go To 2

2. CHECK IF BCM DTCS ARE PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

Are there BCM DTCs?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Perform the appropriate TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

No

- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pins, terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the PCM.
- Perform the appropriate TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
