P058C-BATTERY MONITOR MODULE TEMPERATURE MONITORING PERFORMANCE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
With the battery voltage above 11.0 volts. This monitor determines if the battery temperature signal from the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) reports rational values during engine running operation.

- Set Conditions:
The IBS is reporting an irrational temperature value during any of the transition periods. If the vehicle is equipped with the stop/start feature, the system will be disabled when this DTC is active.

Diagnostic Test
INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR (IBS)

NOTE: Diagnose any battery or charging system faults before continuing.

The Intelligent Battery Sensor is reporting internal errors, view repair to continue.

Repair

- Replace the Intelligent Battery Sensor.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
