B1424-00-IMPROPER DVD - WRONG REGION

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
Continuously with the ignition on and the EXTERNAL DISC MODULE turned on.

- Set Condition:
The code will set if a CD is not formatted for the proper region or the EXTERNAL DISC MODULE is programmed for the incorrect region.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK THE CD
1. Replace the problem CD with a CD formatted for the proper region.
2. Turn the Radio and CD player on.
3. With the scan tool, read the EXTERNAL DISC MODULE DTCs.

Does the scan tool display active: B1424-00-IMPROPER CD/DVD - WRONG REGION?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test Complete.

2. CHECK THE EXTERNAL DISC MODULE
1. With the scan tool, verify the EXTERNAL DISC MODULE is programmed for the proper region.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display active: B1424-00-IMPROPER CD/DVD - WRONG REGION?

Yes

- Eject the inoperative CD and replace the EXTERNAL DISC MODULE.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Test Complete.
