6G Resistance of DIST. Pickup Coil Wires

1. Connect distributor pickup coil connector.
2. Disconnect computer 10-way connector and connect an ohmmeter between cavities 5 and 9 of 10-way connector.
3. If ohmmeter reading is between 150 and 900 ohms of resistance, check distributor pickup coil air gap. If correct, replace computer.
CAUTION: Before replacing the computer check the terminals in cavity No. 5 to make sure they are not spread apart causing a poor connection.
4. If ohmmeter reading shows 0 resistance or open circuit, repair wires to distributor pickup coil for open or short circuit.
