Single Rear Cargo Door

Door Hinge:

DOOR ADJUSTMENTS
The position of the rear cargo door in the body door opening is adjusted at the hinge attaching locations at the door inner side panel and at the door pillar. Slightly enlarged screw holes provide the means for adjustment.

It is very important to avoid adjusting a rear cargo door improperly and causing the door weatherstrip seal to be crushed. A simple test of weatherstrip seal-to-door pillar contact can be accomplished with a strip of newspaper. Place the paper adjacent to the door pillar and close the door. Pull the paper outward from between the door pillar and the weatherstrip seal. A slight drag should be detected. If the paper is difficult or impossible to remove, the door should be re-adjusted.

For reference, it is helpful to mark the outline of the hinges on the door inner side panel and the door pillar with a wax pencil prior to loosening the screws.

LATERAL ADJUSTMENT
Lateral (horizontal) door adjustment is accomplished by loosening the door pillar-to-hinge screws for one hinge at a time and then moving the door to the correct position.

1. Remove the interior trim panel for access to the door pillar-to-hinge screws.
2. Support the door with a padded floor jack.
3. Loosen the applicable door pillar-to-hinge screws and move the door to the correct lateral position.
4. If necessary, loosen the other door pillar-to-hinge screws and move the door to the correct lateral position.
5. Tighten the door pillar-to-hinge screws with 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque.
6. Remove the floor jack from the door.
7. Install the interior trim panel.

UP/DOWN ADJUSTMENT
Up/down door adjustment is accomplished by loosening the door pillar-to-hinge screws at both hinges and then moving the door to the correct position.

1. Remove the interior trim panel for access to the door pillar-to-hinge screws.
2. Support the door with a padded floor jack.
3. Loosen the door pillar-to-hinge screws at both hinges and move the door to the correct up/down position.
4. Tighten the door pillar-to-hinge screws with 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque.
5. Remove the floor jack from the door.
6. Install the interior trim panel.

IN/OUT ADJUSTMENT
In/out door adjustment is accomplished by loosening the door-to-hinge screws for one hinge at a time and then moving the door to the correct position.

1. Support the door with a padded floor jack.
2. Loosen the applicable door-to-hinge screws and move the door to the correct in/out position.
3. If necessary, loosen the other door-to-hinge screws and move the door to the correct in/out position.
4. Tighten all the door-to-hinge screws with 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque.
5. Remove the floor jack from the door.
