Vent Window Motor Test

Power Vent Window Motors:

1. Remove the rear quarter panel trim panel.
2. Disconnect the vent window motor electrical connector.
3. Using a test battery, connect the positive (+) lead to one of the two window lift motor terminals.
4. Connect the negative (-) lead to remaining terminal.
5. With the battery connected, the motor should rotate in one direction to either move the window open or closed.
^ If the window is in the full open position and the motor is connected so as to move the window in the open direction, no movement will occur.
^ Likewise, if the window is in the full closed position and the motor is connected so as to move the window in the closed direction, no movement will occur.
6. Reverse the battery leads (opposite to the position in steps 1 and 2) and window should now move.
7. If the window moved open or closed, the leads should be reversed one more time to complete a full window travel inspection.
