Clutch Replacement
1. Remove transmission assembly as outlined under "Manual Transmission, Replace."2. Remove clutch housing, release fork and bearing assembly.
3. Mark pressure plate and flywheel to ensure correct position during installation.
4. Insert a suitable clutch alignment tool, or equivalent through clutch disc hub to prevent clutch disc from falling.
5. Loosen clutch cover attaching bolts evenly, one or two turns at a time, to avoid bending cover flange.
6. Remove pressure plate, cover assembly and disc from flywheel.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When mounting clutch assembly on flywheel, ensure dowels and alignment marks are aligned, and that side of clutch disc marked "flywheel side" faces flywheel.
b. To avoid damaging clutch cover assembly, tighten bolts evenly, a few turns at a time, until fully seated.
c. Using clutch alignment tool, or equivalent to hold disc in position, 5/16 inch bolts to 17 ft-lbs. and 3/8 inch bolts to 30 ft-lbs.
d. Tighten clutch housing bolts to specifications.
