Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION





The rear crankshaft oil seal (1) and retainer (3) are molded and serviced as an assembly. This assembly also includes a separate rear crankshaft seal protector (1) that should not be removed before the seal is installed on the engine block. Once the seal protector (1) is separated from the assembly it can not be re-installed on the assembly or reused.
