Fuel Tank - Installation

INSTALLATION





1. If removed, position the heat shield and install the push pin retainers (1).
2. If removed, install the auxiliary fuel pump module Fuel Pump Module - Installation.
3. If removed, install the main fuel pump module Fuel Pump Module - Installation.






NOTE: If equipped with skid plates, install the skid plates, fuel tank, and support straps as an assembly.

4. Using a suitable hydraulic jack (1) and a fuel tank adapter (2), position the fuel tank, support straps and if equipped, skid plates.





5. Install the fuel tank support strap retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove the hydraulic jack and the fuel tank adapter.





7. Connect the fuel supply line quick-connect fitting (1).





8. If equipped, position the left side body skid plate and install retainers (1).





9. Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector (2) retaining tab onto the rear crossmember.
10. Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector (1).





11. Install the propeller shaft assembly Drive Shaft - Installation.





12. Connect the On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) vacuum line quick-connect fitting (2).
13. Connect the ORVR vapor line quick-connect fitting (1).




Install the muffler Installation.
14. Connect the EVAP purge line quick-connect fitting (3).
15. Position the fuel filler hose (2) and install the hose clamps (1) and tighten to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.).





16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Connect the negative battery cable (2).
18. Fill the fuel tank.
19. Start the engine and check for leaks.
