SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Drive gear noise (whine) from transfer shaft and ring gear at 40-50 mph.
DIAGNOSIS
Vehicle is to be evaluated on a smooth road surface with transaxle at normal operating temperature at speeds between 40-50 mph.
PARTS REQUIRED
1 Weight PN 4431107
If drive gear noise is verified, do the following:
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove air inlet hose from air cleaner.
Left-hand Engine Mount Through-Bolt:
2. Thread damper weight onto the end of the left-hand motor mount through-bolt (threads protrude into engine compartment) - (see Illustration).
3. Torque damper weight to 200 +/- 30 inch pounds.
4. Reinstall air cleaner inlet hose.
5. Road test vehicle to verify improvement.
