DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
EMISSIONS RECALLS,# 500 & # 501 - HC AND CO EMISSIONS


^ This service requirement applies only to 1986 Model Year Plymouth Horizon, Plymouth Turismo, Dodge Omni and Dodge Charger vehicles equipped with 2.2L carbureted engines and Federal emission control systems.


^ Affected vehicles are divided into two separate groups (Recall # 500 and Recall # 501). A different owner notification letter format will be used for each. Owner response rates will be evaluated to determine if one format is more effective.

When servicing an involved vehicle, refer to the Owner Recall Notification Form to identify the applicable recall number (printed to the far right of the VIN). The recall number can also be identified from the applicable dealer Vehicle List or from DIAL System Function 70.

When submitting your service claim, be sure to use the correct labor operation number for the involved vehicle: LOP 25500182 (Recall # 500) or LOP 25501182 (Recall # 501) as applicable. The correct LOP must be used to ensure proper paymenL


^ Repairs made to involved, vehicles may be audited by the Environmental Protection Agency. It is essential to complete each step of the service procedure exactly as specified.
