Service Procedure




For identification of involved components, refer to the illlustration on the next page which shows a view of the complete recall package installation.

Caution: The fuel system is under a constant pressure. Before proceeding with this repair, be sure to release the pressure by performing the fuel system pressure release procedure per the appropriate service manual instructions.
1. Remove and discard the return hose clamp and disconnect return hose from the pressure regulator.

2. Remove and discard the vacuum line routed to the regulator.

3. Loosen regulator to fuel rail hose clamp at fuel rail.

4. Remove the regulator mounting bracket (2 bolts). Disconnect loosened hose at fuel rail and remove bracket, regulator and hose as an assembly. Loosen hose clamp at regulator. Remove and discard hose and both clamps.

5. Remove regulator mounting nut and remove regulator from the mounting bracket. Set aside bracket for parts return.

6. Install the new, supplied mounting bracket at the original bracket location.

7. Mount the original regulator to the new bracket. (The square notch on the regulator housing should be matched with the dimple on the bracket to properly orient the regulator fuel hose nipple.)

8. Install the supplied regulator to fuel rail hose and sleeve assembly, using the new clamps provided in the parts package. (Torque to 1 N-m / 10 in. lbs.)

9. Install the supplied vacuum line and sleeve assembly, looping the line toward the firewall.

10. Reinstall return hose to regulator with a new clamp provided in the parts package. (Torque to 1 N-m / 10 in. lbs.)

11. Start engine and check to ensure there are no leaks at the hose connections.
