Side Rail Installation


50. Install the new side rails.

CAUTION:
APPLY MOPAR LOCK N' SEAL (4318031) TO ALL RE-USED BOLTS DURING INSTALLATION.

NOTE:
TIGHTEN ALL FASTENERS TO 160 IN.LBS. (18 N-m) TORQUE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

51. Install the new side rails to old No. 1 bow mounting plates using the new bolts supplied.

NOTE:
TO EASE INSTALLATION OF THE MOUNTING PLATE BOLTS, SEAT THE BUSHINGS ON THE MOUNTING PLATE BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOUNTING PLATE BOLTS. TIGHTEN BOLTS TO 100 in.lbs. (11 N-m.) TORQUE.


52. Install the spring washers, bushings and the new shoulder bolts, attaching the side rails to the No. 1 bow. Tighten the bolts to 160 in.lbs. (18 N-m) torque.

NOTE:
IF THE BOLTS ARE DIFFICULT TO INSTALL DUE TO INTERFERENCE WITH THE SIDE RAIL, LOOSEN THE MOUNTING PLATE BOLTS, INSTALL THE SHOULDER BOLTS IN THE BUSHINGS AND THEN TIGHTEN THE MOUNTING PLATE BOLTS AND THEN ATTACH THE MOUNTING PLATE TO THE NO. 1 BOW.

53. Position the control links on the side rails.

54. Install the control link washers and shoulder bolts attaching the control link to the side rails.

55. Position the side rail center links on the side rails.

56. Install the side rail center link washers and shoulder bolts attaching the center link to the side rails.

57. Install the No. 1 bow garnish molding by sliding it on the latch assembly.

58. Install the caps and screws anaching the No. 1 bow garnish molding.
