3 Conditions Needed to Set Diagnostic Trouble Codes

1. Perform TEST 2 Before Proceeding. Write down and record all DTC's.
2. With DRB, erase DTC's.
3. Refer to the list below and find the code(s) that were erased. Follow the instructions next to each code and
try to set the code.
4. If the DTC comes back, it is considered a HARD CODE. Perform TEST 2.
5. If the DTC does not come back, it is an INTERMITTENT CODE. Perform TEST 4.

Code Instructions
11 Turn the ignition from off to on, then start the engine. Place foot on brake and move the shift lever through all gear positions.
12 Reference Only.
13 Turn the ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start the engine.
14 Turn the ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start the engine.
15 Turn the ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start the engine.
16 Turn the ignition from off to on.
17 Turn the ignition from off to on.
18 Start the engine and allow it to run in park for at least 3 seconds.
19 Start the engine and wait for 15 seconds.
20 Turn the ignition from off to on. If no code sets, start the engine.
21-27 Run the vehicle in neutral for 1 minute, then drive the vehicle in R. 1, 2, 3, and OD for a minimum of 30 seconds in each gear.
28 Start the engine and move the shift lever slowly from park to low.
29 Start the engine and then move the throttle from closed to wide open throttle then quickly back to closed.
31 With the transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive in 1st and 2nd gear for at least 1 minute each.
32 With the transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive in 1st and 3rd gear for at least 1 minute each.
33 With the transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive in 1st gear for at least 1 minute
35 Drive the vehicle in OD and achieve 1st through 4th EMCC.
36 This code will not be set alone. It will have a code 50-58 code in addition to it.
37 Drive in 2nd gear, then apply the brakes until a 2- 1 downshift occurs. Do this at least three times.
38 With transmission at normal operating temperature, drive in 4th gear at light throttle at 50 MPH for 17 to 20 seconds. Verify EMCC by monitoring the bottom of the DRB RPM display. When EMCC begins, tip gradually into the throttle while EMCC is maintained on the screen. Partial lockup (PLU) to lockup LU) should be seen after 5 - 10 seconds. Do this maneuver at least three times.
41-44 Start and run the engine for a minimum of thirty seconds.
45 Start and run the engine for a minimum of twenty seconds.
46 Drive vehicle with the throttle angle above 10 degrees and allow vehicle to do a 3-4 shift. Repeat at least three times.
47 With transmission at normal operating temperature, drive in OD at light throttle at 50 MPH for at least 20 seconds.
50-58 Run the engine in neutral for one minute, then drive the vehicle in R,1, 2, 3, and 4 for at least 30 seconds in each gear.
60-63 Run the engine in neutral for one minute, then drive the vehicle in R,1, 2, 3, and 4 for at least 30 seconds in each gear.
70-71 Operate vehicle in AutoStick Mode.
74 Perform battery disconnect with DRB. Drive vehicle so that 3 OBDII trips are accumulated.
76 Operate vehicle on bumpy roads at speeds above 25 MPH.
