Rear Disc Brake Noise
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH VENTED REAR DISC ROTORS (SALES CODE BRE OR BRG).

1992 (AA) Spirit
(AG) Daytona
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may complain of brake noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when brake pedal is applied, (condition is worse after vehicle has set for several hours). This noise is a low frequency moan/groan and is most prevalent when the conditions are wet (snow/rain/high humidity).
DIAGNOSIS:
Verify that the vehicle brake system is functioning properly, and that the noise is coming from the rear brakes.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 Rear Disc Pad Set 4423667
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves replacement of the rear disc brake pads with a revised set.
1. Remove the rear disc brake pads as outlined in the 1992 Front Wheel Drive Service Manual, Publication # 81-270-2101.
2. Inspect the rotors for scoring, foreign material, ridges, runout, distortion, etc. Replace if necessary.
3. Install the revised rear disc pad set, PN 4423667.
