Idle Speed: Adjustments

CAUTION: Some models are equipped with a factory adjusted throttle plate position set screw. Never attempt to adjust idle speed using this screw, unless directed to do so in a service procedure.

Idle speed is electronically controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through the Idle Air Control (IAC) motor, and is not adjustable.

If idle is outside of specified RPM, or is rough, or unstable, inspect and clean throttle body if deposits are visible. Perform Minimum Idle Air Flow Test if applicable.
