Warning: Be sure to apply parking brake and/or block wheels before performing any test with the engine running.


To assist in diagnosing engine stalling, creeping and hard shifting on vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, idle rpm should be tested and recorded when the vehicle is first brought into shop.
