Clearing Trouble Codes

USING THE SCAN TOOL

1. Turn the ignition switch to "OFF" and then back to "ON" again.
2. Erase the diagnostic trouble codes by selecting the "Erase Codes" option on the scan tool.
3. Check to be sure that no diagnostic trouble codes still exist.

USING A VOLTMETER

1. Turn the ignition switch to "OFF".
2. Disconnect the battery cable from the battery negative terminal for 10 seconds or more, then reconnect the cable.
3. Turn the ignition switch to "ON", read the diagnostic trouble codes and check that a normal code is output.
