B210D-16

B210D-16-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW - CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation

The Integrated Center Stack (ICS) monitors the input circuit voltage. The ICS sets a DTC if the input circuit voltage drops below a certain voltage.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The ICS monitors the input voltage. This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set when the input voltage is below 9 volts for greater than three seconds.

1. CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCs

NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding.

1. Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs.

Are there any battery or charging system DTCs present?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

No

- Go To 2

2. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Using the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
2. Start the engine.
3. Allow the engine to idle for two minutes.
4. Using the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B210D-16-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW - CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD as active?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

3. CHECK THE (A937) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) harness connector.
3. Ignition on, engine not running.
4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A937) Fused B(+) circuit in the Hands Free Module harness connector.
5. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (A937) Fused B(+) circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. CHECK THE (Z907) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE
1. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z907) Ground circuit in the Hands Free Module harness connector.
2. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Replace the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Screen Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (Z907) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
