Steering Column Lock Housing - Installation






INSTALLATION





1. Position lock housing assembly into the bracket on the column assembly and align the holes.
2. Install two new torque-to-yield bolts. Continue to tighten each bolt until the head shears off (1).
3. Install the column into the vehicle Steering Column - Installation.





4. Place the actuator in the lock cylinder housing to the RUN position (if not already there).
5. Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn the key cylinder to the RUN position.
6. Align the retaining tab on the key cylinder with the slot in the top of the lock cylinder housing.
7. Slide the key cylinder into the lock cylinder housing until the key cylinder retaining tab locks the cylinder into place.
8. Rotate the key back and forth (OFF to START), then remove and reinstall it, making sure the key cylinder and lock cylinder housing operate properly.





9. Slide the ring (2) over the lock cylinder housing (1) and engage the retainer fingers in the recesses formed on the lock cylinder housing.
10. Install lock housing electrical connectors.





11. Install the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) (3) Clockspring - Installation.
12. Check operation of all steering column mounted components. Make sure the ignition-shift interlock feature operates properly.
