ISSUE: Ignition noise through the radio speakers when operating the radio in the tape player mode may result if a new multispark ignition module was installed to correct a rough idle condition per TSB 87-3-20.
ACTION: To correct this, modify the multi-spark ignition module wire harness as outlined in the following service procedure.
1. Shorten the heavy gauge BLACK wire on the module to 14 inches (357 mm). Crimp on a new solderless lug and hook up wire directly to negative terminal of battery.
2. Perform TSB 86-24-26 to eliminate the radio noise.
