This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to further define the warranty coding and to include 1991 model vehicles. It covers 1988-91 F-150-350 Series 4X2, 1988-91 F-150 4X4 and 1988-91 Bronco.

ISSUE: A comprehensive pull and drift diagnostic procedure has been developed to assist technicians in resolving pull or drift concerns.

ACTION: Use the following service procedure to resolve drift and pull concerns.

TEST DRIVE

Test drive the vehicle with the customer to understand the pull or drift concern. Sometimes they may mistakenly call a clear vision concern a pull or drift concern because the steering wheel is not straight. Use the following Service Procedure to attempt to resolve the pull or drift concern. Proceed with the Pull and Drift Diagnostic Procedure if the pull or drift is not significantly reduced or where there is a case of steady state drift (no braking).

A Diagnostic Check List has been provided at the end of this article to use with this procedure.

NOTE: THIS TSB ARTICLE SHOULD BE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE PERFORMING DIAGNOSTICS OR REPAIRS.
