TRANSMISSION - E4OD - DELAYED FORWARD ENGAGEMENT AND/OR HEAT STAINED FORWARD CLUTCH PLATES AFTER INSTALLING CENTER SUPPORT SERVICE KIT F4TZ-7A130-B

LIGHT TRUCK:
1989-94 BRONCO, E SERIES, F SUPER DUTY, F-150-350 SERIES

ISSUE:
Delayed forward engagements and/or heat stained forward clutch plates may be evident on vehicles which have had the new Center Support Kit (F4TZ-7A130-B) installed per TSB 94-24-15. This may be caused by high fluid flow bypass between the steel hub and the aluminum support ring on some F4TZ-7A130-B kits built before 4/7/95.

Packing Marks:

ACTION:
Perform normal diagnostics as outlined in the "Diagnosis and Testing" Section (07-01 A) of the appropriate Service Manual. If the concern is still present, install a new Center Support Kit (F4TZ-7A130-B) having yellow paint on the center support (Figure 1) and a yellow dot on the shipping carton (Figure 2).

NOTE:
USE ONLY SERVICE KITS HAVING YELLOW PAINT ON THE CENTER SUPPORT AND A YELLOW DOT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SHIPPING CARTON.
