REASON FOR Ford Motor Company is voluntarily recalling (Emissions
THIS LETTER Recall 9OE86) certain 1988 and 1989-model E and F-Series
trucks equipped with 7.5 liter engines. Our records show that you own one of these trucks. Your truck's engine may be releasing air pollutants which exceed Federal standards.

WHAT YOU Telephone your Ford dealer. Mention this letter,
SHOULD DO Emissions Recall 9OE86, and ask if service parts are
available.

Ask for a computer check to see if other recall repairs are needed on your truck.

WHAT THE The dealer will replace the exhaust gas recirculation
DEALER valve on the engine in your truck at no charge to you.
WILL DO This service should have little or no effect on your
truck except to reduce the air pollutants released by the emissions control system. The time required for this service is about one hour. Your dealer may have to keep your truck longer because of service capacity restraints.

WHY SERVICE If you do not have this service done, your emissions
SHOULD BE warranty may be reduced.
DONE

Also, your truck may not pass emissions or smog tests

that may be required in your area.

FORM If you have changed your address or sold your truck, fill
ENCLOSED out the enclosed prepaid postcard.

regarding this recall service, contact the nearest Ford Parts and Service Division District Office whose address is shown in your Owner Guide.
