Lap Belt Retractor Does Not Lock

1. Withdraw a minimum of 458 mm (18 inches) of webbing from lap belt retractor. Allow 50.8 mm (2 inches) of webbing to retract, and pull out again to check for lock up. Retractor must lock up after 458 mm (18 inches) of webbing has been withdrawn.
2. If not OK, replace the seat belt assembly. If OK, withdraw lap belt webbing and buckle up while sitting in seat. Repeat five times, to ensure proper operation. If not OK, replace the seat belt assembly.
