Starter No-Load Test

Fig. 6 Starter No-Load Test Connections:

Ensure starter is secured to bench prior to beginning test.
1. Connect test equipment as shown, Fig. 6.
2. Ensure that no current is flowing through ammeter, then determine exact reading on voltmeter.
3. Disconnect starter from battery, then reduce resistance of rheostat until voltmeter indicates same reading as while starter was running. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for ammeter readings.
