With 4WD

REMOVAL
1. Remove floor mat and cover interior components and trim to prevent damage during service.
2. Remove transfer case and transmission shift lever, shift ball and boot assemblies.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Drain transmission fluid, then disconnect front and rear driveshafts from transfer case and wire to one side.
5. Remove retaining ring or cotter pins from shift link, then lift shift link from transfer case.
6. Remove speedometer cable from transfer case.
7. Support transfer case with a suitable jack, then remove transfer case attaching bolts and transfer case.
8. Support transmission with a suitable jack and remove rear support bracket and brace.
9. Remove 4 transmission to bellhousing attaching bolts, then lower transmission from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque transmission attaching bolts to 35-50 ft lbs.
b. Torque upper shift lever mounting bolts to 16-24 ft lbs.
