DN40 - Verify Vacuum is Present at EGR Valve

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 332 in Key On Engine Running (KOER) indicates the EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor input did not change after the EVR solenoid was instructed by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to open the EGR valve.

Possible causes:

- Vacuum hose leaks.

- Obstructed vacuum hose.

- Obstructed EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) solenoid filter.

- Damaged EVR solenoid.

- Damaged EVP sensor.

- Damaged EGR valve.

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect vacuum line from EGR valve.

- Connect vacuum gauge at open vacuum line.

- Rerun KOER Self-Test while observing vacuum gauge. Key ON Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test

- Does vacuum increase above 3.4 kPa (1.0 in Hg)?

Yes -- Remove vacuum gauge. Go to DN43. DN43 - Check EVP Sensor and EGR Valve Operation

No -- Remove vacuum gauge. Reconnect EGR valve vacuum line. Go to DN41. DN41 - Verify Vacuum Supply to EVR Solenoid
