Brake Lamp: Description and Operation

Stoplamps on all vehicles are illuminated whenever the brake pedal (2455) is pressed. A switch mounted on the brake pedal closes the circuit between the battery feed wire to the switch and the wire from the switch to the lamps. The battery side of the switch is always hot and is protected by a 15-amp fuse located in the interior fuse panel. The stoplamp is the center bulb in the rear lamp housing. The bulb is a double filament with the other filament used for the tail lamps.
