Rotor Clearance
1. Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, make sure inside of cover is flat. If a 0.038 mm (0.0015 inch) feeler gauge can go under straightedge, oil pump should be replaced.2. Insert the inner and outer rotor into the housing.
3. Place a straightedge over the rotor assembly and the housing.

4. Measure the clearance between the straightedge and the inner rotor, then the outer rotor. Clearance must not exceed 0.10 mm (0.004 inch).
5. If clearance is excessive, replace oil pump.
