DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT DEACTIVATION

OVERVIEW





This procedure provides direction to deactivate the daytime running lights (DRL) by replacing the DRL module with a shorting bar plug. Actual removal of the DRL module is not required. See Figure 1.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. NOTE: The DRL module is located behind the left side of the front bumper. Access the module from below the bumper.

2. On Windstar models, remove the two (2) attaching screws at the left end of the splash shield to gain access to the module.





3. Disconnect the DRL module connector, then install the shorting bar plug to the harness connector. See Figure 2.

4. Using the supplied tie strap, secure the harness connector/shorting bar plug to a secure location. See Figure 2.

5. On Windstar models, reattach the splash shield.
