Normal Operation
The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the resistance of the circuit to the passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner. When the RCM detects a resistance that is out of the expected range (high or low) it will set Lamp Fault Code (LFC) 46 and Diagnostic Test (DTC) B1877 or 1877.

Possible Causes
An out of range resistance on the passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner circuit can be caused by:
^ an out of range resistance on circuit 1081 (YE/RD).
^ an out of range resistance on circuit 1082 (YE/BK).
^ an out of range resistance on the passenger pretensioner.
^ an RCM internal concern.
