Antenna Cable: Service and Repair

ANTENNA LEAD-IN CABLE

Removal
1. Remove the antenna base.







2. Position the RH front fender splash shield away from the bulkhead.
1 Remove the 2 nuts.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the pin-type retainers.
4 Position the RH front fender splash shield away from the bulkhead.







3. Remove the pin-type retainer and the lower RH A-pillar trim panel.







4. Separate the antenna lead-in cable grommet from the bulkhead and pull the excess cable into the passenger compartment.
5. Remove the audio unit.

6. NOTE: This vehicle uses an antenna lead-in cable that is attached to the instrument panel reinforcement and the defroster air duct. Do not remove the original antenna lead-in cable from the vehicle.

Cut and remove the original antenna lead-in cable connectors and excess cable. Secure the remaining cable ends to avoid rattles or identification problems.

Installation







1. Route the new antenna lead-in cable into the passenger compartment.
- Make sure the grommet is fully seated.

2. Route and secure the new antenna lead-in cable to the instrument panel reinforcement.
3. Install the audio unit.







4. Install the pin-type retainer and the lower RH A-pillar trim panel.
5. Route the antenna cable through the antenna base opening on the cowl.







6. Position the RH front fender splash shield to the bulkhead.
1 Install the 2 nuts.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the pin-type retainers.

7. Install the antenna base.
