Normal Operation
The door lock control switches provide a ground, circuit 57 (BK) for the vehicle security module (VSM) lock and unlock signal circuits 119 (PK/YE) and 120 (PK/LG). The door lock actuator output circuits 117 (PK/BK), 118 (PK/OG) and 163 (RD/OG) are at ground on circuit 57 (BK) through the VSM when the lock and unlock relays are not energized.
When the VSM receives a lock request through circuit 119 (PK/YE), the VSM processes the lock request and energizes the all lock relay, supplying voltage to circuit 117 (PK/BK) to lock the doors. Circuits 118 (PK/OG) and 163 (RD/OG) are at ground on circuit 57 (BK) through the VSM.
When the VSM receives an unlock request through circuit 120 (PK/LG), the VSM processes the unlock request and energizes the all unlock relay and driver unlock relay supplying voltage to circuits 118 (PK/OG) and 163 (RD/OG) to unlock the doors. Circuit 117 (PK/BK) is at ground on circuit 57 (BK) through the VSM.
Possible Causes
- Circuit 117 (PK/BK) open
- Circuit 118 (PK/OG) open
- Circuit 163 (RD/OG) open
- Sliding door contact switch
- Door lock actuators
- VSM
