EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Headlamps
The headlamp switch controls the function of illuminating the headlamps.

The multifunction switch controls the function of the high beams and the flash-to-pass feature.

Two different style headlamps are used: aerodynamic style headlamps which use a halogen bulb, and type 2B rectangular sealed-beam (low series) style headlamps.

Stoplamps
The stoplamp switch is located above the brake pedal where the brake booster push rod is connected to the brake pedal assembly. The stoplamp switch provides voltage to the stoplamps when the brake pedal is applied.

Turn Signal and Hazard Lamps
The multifunction switch and the electronic flasher control the functions of the turn signals and the hazard lamps.

Parking, Rear and License Plate Lamps
The headlamp switch controls the function of illuminating the parking, rear, and license plate lamps.

Reversing Lamps
On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the powertrain control module (PCM) controls the function of the reversing lamp relay to provide voltage to the reversing lamps.

On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the reversing lamp switch controls the function of the reversing lamp relay to provide voltage to the reversing lamps.

Trailer Lamps
The trailer lamps are provided voltage by relays that are controlled by the base vehicle lighting systems.

The trailer tow battery charge relay provides voltage for the trailer tow battery.
