60/40 Seat

SEAT BACKREST - REAR, CREW CAB, 60/40 SEAT

Disassembly and Assembly

All seats
1. Remove the seat.
2. Remove the 60 percent or 40 percent backrest.
3. Remove the head restraint.
1 Pull the head restraint out to end of travel. Press the release button and pull the head restraint rod past its stop position.
2 Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, press the release tab on the second head restraint guide and pull the head restraint free of the seat back.







4. NOTE: The LH and RH head restraint guides are not interchangeable. Note location for installation.

Using an appropriate pry tool, press in the release tab and remove the head restraint guides.
- Release tab is located beneath the head restraint release tab.







5. Remove the clip and backrest latch handle.







60 percent seat

6. NOTE: When removing the bolts, make sure to retain the washers from behind the armrest swivel arms.

Remove the 4 armrest bolts and armrest assembly.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

7. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers and insert panel.

All seats
8. Release the backrest trim cover lower J-clip.
9. Remove the RH and LH pin-type retainers holding the backrest trim cover at the rear.

10. CAUTION: Use care when separating the backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the backrest foam.

Invert the backrest trim cover and release the hook-and-loop strips.
- Remove the 60 percent backrest trim cover.

11. Remove the 40 percent backrest trim cover hog rings and backrest trim cover.
12. Remove the backrest foam pad from the backrest frame.

60 percent seat
13. Using a suitable tool, pry to release the cable anchor, swivel the cable end and remove.
14. Detach all the cable clips.
15. Using a suitable tool, pry to release the other cable anchor, swivel the cable end and remove.
16. Remove the bolts and LH backrest latch.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

17. Remove the bolts and center backrest latch.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

40 percent seat

18. CAUTION: Use care not to damage the bushing. If damaged, install a new bushing.

Using a suitable tool, carefully pry the center support from the bushing.
- If necessary, remove the bushing.

19. Remove the bolts and RH backrest latch.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

All seats
20. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
