Test B: DTC B1048 - Passenger Side Air Bag Cross Link to Another Firing Loop

PINPOINT TEST B: DTC B1048 - PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG CROSS LINK TO ANOTHER FIRING LOOP

Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors all deployable devices for a cross link fault between deployable circuits. If the RCM detects a fault between the circuits of one deployable device and another deployable device, it will store a DTC for each of the cross linked loops indicating a fault. The RCM sends a message to the instrument cluster (IC) module to flash a LFC of the cross link DTCs (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag warning indicator. When a normal squib fault is present (one squib is either shorted to battery/ground, has an open circuit or has low resistance), then crosslink diagnostics will not be active. Once the normal squib fault is repaired, then the crosslink diagnostics will resume.

- DTC B1048 Passenger Side Air Bag Cross Link to Another Firing Loop - If the RCM detects a short between the circuits of the passenger air bag module loop 1 and the circuits of another deployable device, it will set this DTC and the cross link DTC of the corresponding deployable device.
- DTC B1049 Passenger Seatbelt Pretensioner Cross Link to Another Firing Loop - If the RCM detects a short between the circuits of the passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner and the circuits of another deployable device, it will set this DTC and the cross link DTC of the corresponding deployable device.
- DTC B1054 Driver Seatbelt Pretensioner Cross Link to Another Firing Loop - If the RCM detects a short between the circuits of the driver safety belt retractor pretensioner and the circuits of another deployable device, it will set this DTC and the cross link DTC of the corresponding deployable device.
- DTC B1057 Driver Air Bag Cross Link to Another Firing Loop - If the RCM detects a short between the circuits of the driver air bag module loop 1 and the circuits of another deployable device, it will set this DTC and the cross link DTC of the corresponding deployable device.
