NOTE: Vertical EGR cooler and bracket removed for clarity.











Removal and Installation

1. NOTICE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be damaged.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to Cooling System &/or Engine Block Heater.

3. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor electrical connector.





4. NOTE: Use a 12-point deep well (hollow) socket to remove and install the fuel temperature sensor. Some deep well sockets narrow at the ratchet end are not deep enough to be used for this procedure.

Remove the fuel temperature sensor. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

- To install, tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).





5. NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Install a new O-ring seal.
