Pinpoint Test AQ: The Phone/Bluetooth(R) Interface Is Inoperative

Normal Operation

The in-dash computer contains a Bluetooth(R) antenna that provides various Bluetooth(R)-enabled devices to interact with the Ford Work Solutions(TM) system.

When a new Bluetooth(R) device is added, it must first be paired to the in-dash computer. Most Bluetooth(R) devices can pair with the in-dash computer, although functionality may vary. When pairing a device, the in-dash computer generates a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that must be entered on the Bluetooth(R) device in order for the pairing process to be successful. There are also some device-specific actions that must take place. For additional information on the pairing process, refer to the Owner's Literature.

For the in-dash computer to detect the Bluetooth(R) device, the device must be within 3 m (10 ft) of the in-dash computer.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Customer error
- Customer Bluetooth(R) device
- In-dash computer
