6.2L - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) P0366
AND P0391 - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 5/10/2010

2011 F-250, F-350

ISSUE
Some 2011 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.2L engine and built on or before 5/10/2010 may have DTCs P0366 (camshaft position sensor B circuit range/performance-bank 1) and P0391 (camshaft position sensor B circuit range/performance-bank 2) in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.

ACTION
Follow the service procedure to correct the concern.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. DTCs P0366 and P0391 are non-malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) DTCs. It is critical to diagnose and repair any other DTCs stored in PCM memory prior to diagnosing P0366 or P0391. Reference camshaft position sensor Powertrain Controls/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual pinpoint test DR for DTC P0366 and or P0391 diagnostics.

2. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 68.01 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2010.7 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
