Power Steering System - Exploded View

Hydro-Boost (R)

NOTICE: The power steering pump-to-hydraulic booster pressure line (3A717) and the hydraulic booster-to-steering gear pressure line (3A719) must both be replaced together on vehicles built before 7/19/2010. The lines can be replaced individually on vehicles that are built after 7/19/2010. Failure to install the correct parts may result in damage to the lines and/or fluid leaks.

NOTICE: Install the pressure line-to-pressure line bracket (item 25) with both pressure line crimp shells aligned parallel to one another as shown in the illustration or damage to the lines and/or fluid leaks may occur.









Vacuum Boost

Removal and Installation

1. Refer to exploded view(s) and any Warnings, Notices, Notes, Materials, Specifications and Special Tools. Items in the exploded views may not be listed in order of removal.

2. It may be necessary to remove the LH fender splash shield to access the steering components. For additional information, refer to Front End Body Panels Fender Splash Shield.

3. For vehicles equipped with a 6.7 L engine, remove the degas bottle to access the power steering pressure lines. For additional information, refer to Engine Cooling - Diesel Engine Service and Repair.
