Pinpoint Test J: The Memory Lock Does Not Operate Correctly


Normal Operation

If the doors are locked with the door lock control switch or the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter with the sliding door ajar, the Smart Junction Box (SJB) relocks all doors including the sliding door, once it is closed.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- Sliding door ajar input

- SJB (Smart Junction Box)

PINPOINT TEST J : THE MEMORY LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

J1 CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR LOCK

- Close the sliding door.

- Press lock and unlock on a door lock control switch while observing the sliding door lock.

Is the sliding door lock inoperative?

Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test B. Pinpoint Test B: A Single/More Than One Door Lock Is Inoperative

No
GO to J2.

J2 CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION

- Open and close the sliding door while observing the courtesy lamp operation.

Do the courtesy lamps operate correctly from the sliding door?

Yes
GO to J3.

No
REFER to Lighting and Horns.

J3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB (Smart Junction Box) OPERATION

- Disconnect all the SJB (Smart Junction Box) connectors.

- Check for:
- corrosion

- damaged pins

- pushed-out pins


- Connect all the SJB (Smart Junction Box) connectors and make sure they seat correctly.

- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new SJB (Smart Junction Box). TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
