Pinpoint Test I: The Front or Rear Video Does Not Operate Correctly - Raptor

Normal Operation - Front Video Camera

The front video camera system is active with the ignition on, the transmission selector in the drive position, the vehicle is in off road mode and the Electronic Locking Differential (ELD) or 4L activated. The front video camera receives commands from the Body Control Module (BCM) over a dedicated Local Interconnect Network (LIN). The front video camera sends a video signal to the camera switching module on a pair of shielded video circuits. The Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) receives the signal from the camera switching module, the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) displays the video image of the area in front of the vehicle.

Normal Operation - Rear Video Camera

The rear video camera system is active with the ignition on and the transmission selector in the reverse position. The rear video camera receives commands from the BCM (Body Control Module) over a dedicated LIN (Local Interconnect Network). The rear video camera sends a video signal to the camera switching module on a pair of shielded video circuits. The FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) receives the signal from the camera switching module, the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) displays the video image of the area behind the vehicle.

- DTC B115E:08 (Camera Module: Bus Signal/Message Failure)- a continuous and a on-demand DTC that sets in the BCM (Body Control Module) when there is a LIN (Local Interconnect Network) communication fault from the rear video camera.

- DTC C1001:01 (Vision System Camera: General Electrical Failure)- a continuous DTC that sets in the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) when no video signal is detected from the rear video camera when the vehicle is in reverse.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Fuse

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- Front video camera

- Rear video camera

- Camera switching module

- FDIM (Front Display Interface Module)

- BCM (Body Control Module)
