Pinpoint Test L: The Position Cursor Is Inaccurate
Normal Operation
The primary source of vehicle location for the navigation system is the Audio Front Control Module (ACM) receiving the position signal through the Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna.
In addition, the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) receives the navigation rolling wheel count signal from the Body Control Module (BCM) (which gateways the signal from the ABS module). This secondary signal calculates vehicle position when the GPS (Global Positioning System) signal is lost. It also supports the adaptive learning function of the ACM (Audio Front Control Module), whereby the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) can compensate for long-term differences between the GPS (Global Positioning System) signal location and the actual distance traveled by the vehicle.
- DTC U2014:09 (Control Module Hardware: Component Failure)- sets when the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) detects a fault in the internal gyroscope. The gyroscope is not serviceable.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- GPS (Global Positioning System) antenna concern
- Communication network concern
- ACM (Audio Front Control Module)
PINPOINT TEST L : THE POSITION CURSOR IS INACCURATE
L1 CHECK FOR DTC U2014:09
- Carry out the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) self-test.
Is DTC U2014:09 present?
Yes
INSTALL a new ACM (Audio Front Control Module). REFER to Audio Control Module (ACM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to L2.
L2 CHECK THE ACM (Audio Front Control Module) FOR GPS (Global Positioning System) SIGNAL-RELATED DTCs
- Retrieve the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) continuous DTCs.
Is DTC B119F:01 or DTC B119F:13 present?
Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test N. Pinpoint Test N: No Global Positioning System (GPS) Antenna Signal
No
GO to L3.
L3 CHECK FOR DTC U0155:00
- Review the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) continuous DTCs.
Is DTC U0155:00 present?
Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test AI. Pinpoint Test AI: DTC U0155 Or DTC U0155:00
No
GO to L4.
L4 CHECK FOR CORRECT ACM (Audio Front Control Module) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect all the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new ACM (Audio Front Control Module). REFER to Audio Control Module (ACM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR any DTCs present.
